Under the rule which takes effect mid-January anyone from the brain surgeon to the pharmacy cashier can opt out of participating in care to which they have a moral or religious objection. Health and Human Services Secretary Michael Leavitt described it as a rule to protect “the right of medical providers to care for their patients in accord with their conscience.

Details below: Grand Prairie Wellness Center Receives Funding Grand Prairie Texas – Several foundations have come to the rescue of the Grand Prairie Wellness Center this holiday season with over $75000 in much-needed funds to the center which provides free medical and low-cost dental services to low-income families many who walk to the clinic for service. The Dallas Foundation awarded $31000 to support the Dental and Dental Hygienist Program; Carl B. King Foundation gave $27300 for program support of the Family Medical Clinic; Harold Simmons Foundation awarded $15000 designated for operating expenses; and the Turner Foundation with $1000 toward the Family Medical Clinic.
